The command palette
Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) anywhere in the app and jump to any entity, page, graph, or setting by name. The fastest lookup at the table is the one you never leave the keyboard for.
Features · everything ships today
Every tool promises features. This page is the honest inventory: what is in the book right now, what each piece does, and why it is cool. No roadmap padding. Everything below ships today, and almost all of it is on the free tier.
Free to start · Founders' rate: Pro $5/mo · AI-optional, no token charges.
Plate I · The entity database
NPCs, locations, factions, quests, items, creatures, vehicles, player characters, lore entries, world rules, planar forces, session recaps, session preps, and custom mechanics. Each one ships with the fields a GM actually needs: motivations, relationships, secrets, a visibility tier. You fill forms. The structure is already built.
Why it is cool Your world becomes data you can query, filter, and connect, instead of prose you re-read at midnight the night before the session.
Plate II · Knowledge graphs
Record a relationship once and it becomes a traversable edge. Grimoire projects the same campaign four ways: political webs of who answers to whom, timelines of what happened when, geography of what sits inside what, and custom graphs you assemble by hand. World Foundations holds the deep canon underneath it all: pantheons, laws of magic, the bones of the setting.
Why it is cool Three sessions in, the graph starts showing you connections you forgot you made. That is the moment the tool begins running the world with you.
Plate III · The collaborative wiki
Block-based pages with slash commands, drag-to-reorder, and real-time co-editing: two people on the same page see each other's cursors, with merges handled by CRDTs instead of save conflicts. Link entities inline, search every page from anywhere, and set visibility on a single block when one paragraph is for your eyes only.
Why it is cool The recap your player writes and the secret you keep can live on the same page, and only one of you sees both.
Plate IV · Players and secrets
Every entry carries one of three visibility tiers: common knowledge, player knowledge, GM secret. Invite your table with a one-click link; players sign in with a standard Grimoire account and see exactly the world you have revealed, nothing more. One login covers both sides of the screen: run your own worlds, play in someone else's.
Why it is cool Reveals become a game mechanic. Flip one tier and the world updates for your players where they stand.
Plate V · Narrative state
Session recaps carry key events you can mark as canon: facts the campaign can no longer misplace. Open threads are typed and aged: consequences, mysteries, foreshadowing, the promises your table has not paid off yet. Arcs span sessions and track momentum. Ask "what is open right now" and get an answer, not an archaeology dig.
Why it is cool Promises age in public. A thread opened five sessions ago keeps raising its hand until the table pays it off.
Plate VI · The genre engine
Pick Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Post-Apocalyptic, Modern, Superhero, or Historical and the whole app reshapes: category names, field vocabularies, tags, tone. Stack facets like Cyber, Survival, or Political Intrigue on top, then dial magic and technology on two-axis spectrums until the setting fits.
Why it is cool Your Numenera-shaped homebrew is fantasy plus cyber plus survival with lost-tech salvage. Grimoire has a dial for exactly that.
Plate VII · Optional
Grimoire runs fully without a single AI feature. When you want it, Grimoire MCP connects your campaign to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client. You bring your own client, so there is no token markup and no model lock-in, and your assistant answers from your canon instead of generic fantasy.
Why it is cool The AI stops inventing your world and starts citing it.
Appendix
Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) anywhere in the app and jump to any entity, page, graph, or setting by name. The fastest lookup at the table is the one you never leave the keyboard for.
Full campaign export in standard formats, on every plan, any time. If a subscription lapses your world stays readable. Grimoire does not hold campaigns hostage.
The fourteen schemas cover most tables. When yours needs a Blood Type on every NPC, Pro adds custom fields to any category without breaking the typed structure.
One full campaign, unlimited entities, every feature on this page including MCP. Free forever, no credit card. Most GMs running one campaign never need to upgrade.
New in 1.5: unified player accounts, one Graphs workspace, wiki search. Read the changelog →
